Water Taxi Beach-Metro Area Edition

Jonathan and I went to the Water Taxi Beach to see Metro Area DJ. Darshan and Morgan Geist were great, but unfortunately they didn't start until really late, so we stayed for a few songs. Here are some photos. P.S. I think the Water Taxi Beach is something everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. The view of Manhattan, from Long Island City, is amazing, although you have to be up for walking on sand!

Annex

Ian and I went to Annex bar on the Lower East Side, and we had an unexpectedly great night. It was a fluke that we went there, but ended up hearing two great bands: Frankpollis and The Pinker Tones. I even had my photo taken while The Pinker Tones were throwing t-shirts out into the audience.....they sent one in my direction!

James Murphy and Pat Mahoney at Hiro Ballroom

The first concert I went to while being in New York was James Murphy and his drummer co-hort of LCD Soundsystem, Pat Mahoney. They were at Hiro Ballroom at the Maritime Hotel. I went with Neena and Ian, and we had a great time! They played amazing disco all night long! Ian and I were actually dancing on the stage- so much fun! Here are some photos!

Move on Up

I wanted to create a way to show all of the places I go to, see, and do while living in New York City. As of now, I have only been living in Brooklyn for 8 weeks, and have been adjusting quite nicely. I previously lived in Manhattan for three months while doing an internship at a fashion design house, Libertine, so moving back to New York permanently was an easier adjustment.

My first love is fashion, second love is music. French House, Disco, Electronic, Funk have always seemed to tickle my fancy. On this site, I will be sharing my adventures of going to DJ events, fashion shows, art gallery openings, and any other event I attend while being in New York. I will also discuss more about my musical tastes, and would hope to peak the interests of others. Enjoy!
